STORM UPDATE
Winter Weather Advisory for 12/22/2025

• Timing:
○ Beginning late Monday night, December 22, after midnight.
○ Continuing through Tuesday morning, December 23, with some light wintry precipitation possible into the late morning hours.

• Olaf Index Snow: 1
○ Expected snowfall totals of a coating to under 1 inch in the West Windsor and Trenton area.
○ Locally higher amounts of up to 1 inch possible north of I-78, with 1 to 2 inches most likely north of I-80.
○ Olaf reminds everyone that even light and fluffy snow still requires shoveling.
○ No need on this one to Engage the Teen-Age Shovel App. 

• Dorothy and Toto Index Wind: 3
○ Light north to northwest winds expected overnight into Tuesday morning.
○ Blowing or drifting snow is not expected to be widespread but could occur in open areas.
○ Dorothy advises securing loose outdoor items. Toto approves.

• Elsa Index Ice and Cold: 1
○ Ice potential: Very Limited for West Windsor and Trenton.
○ Light freezing rain is possible Tuesday morning mainly north and west of our area, including the Poconos, northwestern New Jersey, and portions of the Lehigh Valley.
○ Temperatures expected to range from the upper 20s to low 30s.
○ Wind chills may dip into the 20s.
○ Prolonged exposure may lead to frostbite or hypothermia.
○ Elsa strongly recommends proper winter clothing and limiting time outdoors.

• Lightning McQueen Road Index: 2
○ Road conditions expected to be wet to locally slippery, especially on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses.
○ Snowfall rates will be light.
○ Roads may be pretreated, however cold temperatures may limit the effectiveness of salt and brine.
○ Lightning McQueen reminds drivers this is not race day. Slow down and increase following distance.

This will be the primary storm update for this event.
A separate road conditions report will be issued Tuesday morning if ice or hazardous driving conditions develop.
