CHRISTMAS WEEK CHURCH BURGLARY

CHRISTMAS WEEK CHURCH BURGLARY

South Brunswick Police are investigating a burglary at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church at 10 Kingston Lane in Monmouth Junction. The burglary was discovered at 7 AM on Monday when parishioners arrived for morning mass. The burglars ransacked several rooms in the church. The suspect(s) climbed through ceiling tiles, smashed sheetrock, and pried open closets and drawers. The suspect(s) stole the church’s collection money for the past week.

Chief Raymond Hayducka called for the public's help in solving the crime. “This is Christmas week, a special time filled with so much excitement. The acts of this suspect are disgraceful. We will use all resources to track this suspect down,” said Chief Hayducka.

South Brunswick detectives, along with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, are following several leads. They are asking residents in the area of the church, along Kingston Lane and Georges Road, to review any home surveillance video systems they may have between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Residents can submit a video to detectives from this link: https://sbtnj.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/stcecelia
