SVPD UPDATE ON JUVENILE STABBING INCIDENT

Case Update:
Major Crimes detectives have identified the male juvenile suspect involved in the December 8, 2025 stabbing incident in the 2900 block of Tapo Canyon Road. Over the weekend, the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team located and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to Juvenile Hall and booked for attempted murder (664/187 PC).

This investigation remains ongoing. Due to the involvement of juveniles, no names will be released.



On December 8, 2025, at approximately 5:29 p.m., the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 2900 block of Tapo Canyon Road. The reporting party stated that he and several friends were exiting a city bus when another juvenile confronted one member of the group. After a brief verbal exchange, the juvenile suspect approached and stabbed the victim in the arm.

The victim was transported to a nearby trauma hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates this was not a random attack, as the suspect and victim are believed to be known to each other. There is no threat to the community.

The suspect fled the area prior to officers’ arrival and remains outstanding. The police department is actively following up on leads. Due to the involvement of juveniles, no names will be released.
