On December 22, 2025, at 5:43 p.m. Deputy Wyatt Hunt conducted a traffic stop on Old US Highway 41 near Crabtree Drive on a White 2015 GMC Yukon for speeding and an expired license plate. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Hunt detected the odor of marijuana coming inside the vehicle. At that point Deputy Hunt began a roadside drug investigation that resulted in the confiscation of a small amount of Marijuana and an open bottle of liquor. Deputy Hunt then began an OWI investigation that resulted in the driver 44-year-old Derondi Jackson of Owensboro being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center. Upon arriving at the detention center Mr. Jackson was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.
Deputy Hunt was assisted by officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Princeton Police Department.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
