Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the pictured male suspect in connection with a theft that occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
At approximately 8:43 p.m. the suspect removed the front license plate from a vehicle parked at Monroe Street near Downing Street. The victim observed the theft on area surveillance cameras. The suspect put the license plate in his book bag before walking away, heading south bound on Monroe Street.
The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing all black clothing, white Nike Air Max sneakers, and carrying a dark blue book bag.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS(1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
