To help keep everyone safe and services running smoothly during winter storms, residents can take a few simple steps to support City crews and reduce hazards on neighborhood streets. These small actions help snow removal and emergency operations move more quickly and allow everyone to better weather the storm.
When possible, please park vehicles off street in driveways before and during winter storms.
Coastal flooding may occur as a result of a storm. Do not park on the lake side of roads near Wesley Lake, Sunset Lake, or Deal Lake. If you live in a low lying area, please move your vehicle to higher ground.
Alternate Side Parking (after snowfall ends)
- Park on the odd numbered side of the road
- The following day, park on the even numbered side of the road
Alternate side parking rules do not apply in areas marked for no parking during a snow emergency. Please follow posted street signage.
One Way Streets
On one way streets, please park on the left hand side as you face the direction of traffic flow (east side for southbound streets, west side for northbound streets). This helps plows operate on narrower streets such as Bond Street, Emory Street, Heck Street, Bergh Street, and Webb Street.

With significant snowfall, it may take time for plows to reach all streets. For plowing questions, please contact Public Works at 732-775-0900. Please note staff may be actively plowing and may not be able to return calls immediately.
