Residential Burglary Attempt - Central Avenue 
On December 26th, 2025 at approximately 6:00 am, the Cranford Police Department responded to a Central Avenue residence on the report of an attempted residential burglary. Entry was not gained into this home, and it appears that the perpetrators made similar attempts on houses in neighboring towns during this same timeframe today.
As high-end vehicles remain targeted by thieves during these incidents, residents are encouraged to be vigilant in locking not only their vehicles but also ensuring that their homes are secured during overnight hours. Please continue to remove keyfobs from your vehicles when they are parked. Also, check that your security cameras are operational.
Car thieves enter and exit the Township quickly and have shown little regard for safety when fleeing. There has been a recent influx in these burglaries in neighboring communities.
