Winter Weather Expected This Evening
WEATHER ALERT
Initial Snow / Sleet Gives Way to Freezing Drizzle Tonight... After a mainly quiet day, with just a flurry or stray snow shower in the afternoon, our main system will build in after sunset. We will pick up a bulk of our snow accumulations within the first few hours of the event when the snow is moderate to briefly heavy.
While a flip to sleet on Friday evening likely limits snow totals to a degree, a couple of hours of moderate sleet will lead to a dense and tough to deal with accumulation and likely require some snow plowing regardless. Sleet/snow transitions to mainly freezing rain around midnight as warmer air mixes in aloft.
Primarily freezing rain lingers into Saturday morning as temps hover around 32 degrees. Freezing drizzle can mix with some pockets of light snow Saturday morning.
