Winter Weather Expected This Evening
The storm system will move into our area around or just after 4pm, with a mixture of mainly sleet and snow and temperatures in the upper 20's. Then around 1am the precipitation may begin to transition more into a sleet/freezing rain combo as the temperature climbs to near freezing. An hour or two later temperatures should climb above freezing, changing the precipitation into normal rain. Rain will mainly fall between 2-6am and then will change back to light snow as the system wraps up and temperatures fall back down into the upper 20's. Light snow will finish up between 9-11am Saturday. Total snowfall and sleet accumulations looks to be generally between 2-4", with a trace of ice possible. Winds will be out of the southeast to start around 6-10mph, then changing direction from the northeast as the precipitation changes back to snow. As this change happens, winds will pick up to 8-12mph, with a few gusts up to 20-25mph being possible.
Residents are reminded that all vehicles are prohibited from being parked on any street that is snow covered to allow DPW to remove snow/ice from the roadways.
Also, to accomodate crews that are working to remove snow/ice, please limit your travel and remember to drive carefully. Although the roads may have been cleared, there is potential for icy conditions due to the freezing temperatures that will linger into Saturday 12/27/25.
