The Washington Township Municipal Hall is open for Warming Center and for any power usage and restroom usage.

Power Outage Update & Warming Center Available

Due to freezing rain and significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree branches, Washington Township is experiencing power outages in several areas. The weight of the ice has caused downed lines and service interruptions.

DTE Energy crews are currently on scene at the West Road substation and are actively working to restore power as we speak.

In response, I am at the Washington Township Municipal Hall and will be opening it as a temporary warming center for residents in need. The facility will be available for anyone who needs:
 • A warm place to go, restroom Usage.
 • Access to electricity to charge medical devices, cell phones, or other essential items

The Township Hall warming center will be open for the next couple of hours. If there is no attendance during that time, the facility will be closed. Located at 57900 Van Dyke.

Please continue to use caution while traveling, avoid downed power lines, and check on neighbors who may need assistance.

We will provide updates as conditions change.
