In case you didn’t notice the change regarding property tax payments for 2025 as noted on the page sent with your tax bill:
If you would like your property tax payment receipt to be dated 2025 for income tax purposes, it must be received by the Village by noon on December 30th: This will not include online payments, as they are received based on the date the money hits the Village’s bank account, not the day the payment is made online.
This is a change from previous years due to a change in the tax collection process mandated by Dane County. All December payments must be balanced and submitted to the County by December 31, 2025. Since Village Hall is closed on the 31st, we will need to RECEIVE your payments no later than noon on the 30th (only if you want a 2025 receipt).
Please keep in mind that your first payment is not actually due to the Village until January 31, 2026. This reminder is ONLY for people who want to make sure their tax receipts are dated for 2025.
