INCIDENT: Deputies Proactively Patrol OHV Trails in Crestline and Lake Arrowhead to Educate Riders and Enforce OHV Laws
LOCATION: Crestline / Lake Arrowhead
SUMMARY: On December 21, 2025, two deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station utilized a side-by-side off-highway vehicle (OHV) to proactively patrol the Miller Canyon OHV Trailering Site and surrounding OHV trails. The purpose of the operation was to educate off-roaders and enforce California vehicle and OHV laws. Educational efforts focused on the safe and appropriate use of OHVs, required safety equipment, applicable laws and regulations, and designated legal riding areas. This operation was funded by the California State Parks OHV Grant Program.
During the operation, approximately six groups of off-roaders were contacted. All drivers and occupants had the proper equipment, and no violations were observed. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reminds off-road enthusiasts to remain informed about local and state laws governing the safe and legal operation of OHVs, as well as the designated OHV riding areas within San Bernardino County.
Residents of the Lake Arrowhead and Crestline communities are encouraged to report illegal, in-progress OHV incidents to Sheriff’s Dispatch at (909)387-8313. Non-emergent OHV concerns may also be shared via the Department’s dedicated OHV email address at [email protected].
