The National Weather Service has issued the following:
What: Snow Squall Warning
Where: Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx
When: until 6:45 AM on 1/1.
Hazards: Heavy snow and winds up to 35 mph will cause visibilities to rapidly fall to less than one-quarter mile or less at times. Snow squalls will result in extremely poor visibilities and dangerous, life-threatening travel conditions. There is no safe place on a highway during a snow squall. Visibility and traction are immediately lost in whiteout conditions, making it difficult or impossible to slow down and avoid stopped vehicles.

Preparedness Actions:
- Delay travel or safely exit the highway before the snow squall arrives.
