**Update- Two arrests have been made by APD Homicide in connection with the shooting death of the 15-year-old girl. 17-year-old Jeremiah Luke Matthews has been arrested for Manslaughter, and 17-year-old Korde Matthews has been arrested for Tampering with Evidence. Both were booked into the Potter County Jail this afternoon.
** original release** On January 1, 2026, at approximately 1:10 am, APD officers were called to the 6000 blk of Westwind on a report of a woman who had been shot. When officers arrived, they learned the victim, a 15-year-old female, had been shot in a vehicle and was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. Medical personnel were unable to save the young woman, and she died at the hospital because of her injuries. The APD Homicide Unit was called to the scene and is currently investigating.
