Incident: Petaluma Police Seek Public’s Assistance Identifying Suspect in Residential Prowling Case

Location: 800 Block of Daniel Drive, Petaluma
The Petaluma Police Department is investigating a residential prowling that occurred in the early morning hours of December 31, 2025, in the 800 block of Daniel Drive.
At approximately 10:53 a.m., Petaluma Police officers responded to a report of a prowler and possible burglary at a single-family residence. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and established a perimeter around the home. After issuing announcements and receiving no response, officers conducted a safety sweep of the residence and confirmed the suspect was not inside.
During the investigation, officers determined that a kitchen window at the rear of the home had been broken, with shattered glass located inside the residence.
Surveillance footage obtained from nearby residences shows a suspect described as a white adult male, wearing a dark-colored sweater or jacket and blue jeans, walking up the driveway of the residence, and attempting to access the backyard through a wooden fence. The suspect is believed to have left the area prior to officers’ arrival, possibly traveling southbound in a dark-colored truck.
At this time, the suspect has not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Petaluma Police Department is asking anyone who may recognize the individual pictured, witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or has additional video footage from the vicinity of Daniel Drive during the morning hours of December 31, 2025, to contact the Petaluma Police Department.

The Petaluma Police Department reminds residents to report suspicious activity promptly and to ensure doors, windows, and gates are secured.
