Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who assaulted a victim on December 20, 2025.
The victim was shopping at Rainbow Shops, a clothing store in the 100 block of Market Street, at approximately 5:45 p.m., when two females confronted her about comments on social media. Moments later, one of the women, who had a red box braided hairstyle, punched the victim in the face several times while the other woman recorded the assault. After the attack, the suspect and the other woman with her left the store and fled in an unknown direction.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
