Route 206 northbound lane closures extended until
February 2 for priority gas main work in Byram, Sussex County
Traffic shift in place Monday through Saturday nights
 
(Trenton) – The lane closures on Route 206 northbound at Brookwood Road are being extended through February 2, 2026 in Byram, Sussex County.
 
The right lane on Route 206 northbound was closed at Brookwood Road (mile post 99.35) near the shopping center on November 10 for a priority gas main installation. Access to the shopping center will continue to be maintained during construction.
 
In addition, beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, January 5 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, and continuing Monday through Saturday nights until Monday, February 2, 2026, the left lane on Route 206 northbound is scheduled to be closed at Brookwood Road with traffic shifted onto Route 206 southbound. One lane will be maintained in each direction overnight.
 
The closures are necessary for priority gas main installation, which is taking longer than expected requiring the lane closures to continue until February 2, 2026. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
