Collision Investigation Leads to Felony DUI Arrest

During a two-vehicle collision investigation, an adult male was arrested for driving under the influence after causing an accident that resulted in injury to another person.
 
San Mateo, CA – On January 1, 2026, at approximately 9:27 p.m., the San Mateo Police Department responded to the area of La Selva Street and Casa de Campo Drive following a report of a two-vehicle collision. Officers arrived on scene and contacted Juan Solisxar, who was identified as one of the drivers involved in the rear-end collision.
 
While speaking with officers, Solisxar displayed objective symptoms consistent with driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. After conducting field sobriety tests, officers arrested Solisxar for felony DUI resulting in injury to another person. The injured party received medical attention at the scene and was later released.
 
The San Mateo Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not limited to alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may negatively affect driving ability. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal in California, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal. Please report any suspected incidents of impaired driving to the San Mateo Police Department or your local law enforcement agency as soon as it is safe to do so.
