CORRECTION: Backup Emergency Phone Number for 911 Outage 
This message is to correct information provided in an earlier Nixle notification regarding a backup phone number for emergency calls.
While GCI continues to investigate ongoing 911 outages affecting cellular service, the City has implemented a backup OptimERA emergency line.
The correct backup number is:
Dial 1 (661) 581-1233
You must dial “1” first, especially when calling from a landline. Please note that this is an out-of-state area code.
This line connects callers directly to public safety if they are unable to reach 911.
A corrected Nixle alert is being issued to ensure accurate community notification. Please help share this information as appropriate.
