Deputy Tre Spearman with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Ronnie Dean Stevenson, 59, of Marion, with felony Possession of Methamphetamine. He was denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
On Dec. 16, Deputy Spearman initiated a vehicle stop in the West Marion area for a traffic violation. Stevenson was driving the vehicle and did not have a valid license.
Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and Stevenson and found a suspected amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The Marion Police Department assisted with the incident.
