RESPONSE TIMES: During the month of December 2025, the average response time for all calls for service was 7 minutes and 26 seconds. There were no Priority 1 Emergency calls during the month. These response times were derived from the 408 calls that qualify for response-time tracking.
PATROL STATISTICS: This report includes a summary of the total incidents for all calls for service as well as the total number and type of police reports that were generated. The Patrol Statistics report also includes our total number of arrests as well as citations. During the month of December 2025, HPD responded to and handled 2,475 calls for service and reported incidents. 623 incidents were resident calls for service and 1,852 were officer-initiated incidents.
HPD made 1 arrest and issued 29 total citations in the month.
CRIME SUMMARY: This report is a summary of all crimes documented and investigated by the Hillsborough Police Department. We are actively investigating the attempted murder of a police officer that occurred on February 22nd (see previous press releases for information).
In December, we investigated 5 residential burglary and 2 “other” burglaries. In 2025, we have investigated 18 residential burglaries and 9 “other” burglaries (construction site, commercial, or vehicle).
CRIME SUMMARY (YEAR TO DATE): Burglary (Auto) On 12/17/25, two vehicles parked at the Burlingame Country Club were broken into a burglarized. HPD Investigators obtained surveillance camera footage of a similar incident in San Mateo County and identified the suspect vehicle as a rented black Toyota Camry with Nevada license plates occupied by a male and a female suspect. HPD Investigators identified the male suspect and the female suspect. Both were recently arrested by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. HPD Investigators are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants for both suspects.
Burglary (Residential) On 12/12/25, a residence located in Willow Court was burglarized by three suspects. HPD Patrol Officers responded to the scene within minutes and observed the suspect vehicle, a dark colored BMW SUV, fleeing from the area. An attempt to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle was unsuccessful. HPD Patrol Officers discovered that approximately $4,500 in personal property had been stolen from a master closet. HPD Investigators discovered a similar residential burglary took place a few hours earlier in San Carlos, likely involving the same suspects. A search warrant was obtained to develop investigative leads.
Burglary (Residential) On 6/29/25, two residential buildings on the 2100 block of Forest View were burglarized. HPD Investigators conducted a canvas and located surveillance camera footage of the suspect and his vehicle. HPD Investigators were able to identify the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for him and a search warrant for his residence. During the search warrant of his residence, numerous items of stolen property from the Hillsborough residences were located along with stolen property from other San Mateo County and Sonoma County locations. HPD Investigators are cataloging the stolen property and will work with the District Attorney’s office to file additional criminal charges.
Attempted Murder of a Police Officer HPD Investigators are continuing to examine the evidence collected during the course of the investigation including forensic evidence, electronic evidence, as well as reviewing witness statements and surveillance camera footage.
