Narrative:
Five suspects were arrested regarding a recent shooting that occurred in the in the city of Thousand Oaks. 
 
On December 31st, 2025, at approximately 1:21 AM, Thousand Oaks Patrol deputies responded to the 1900 block of Los Feliz Drive, following multiple reports of a shooting that had just occurred in the area.  Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and observed multiple suspects, including one who was seen firing a handgun. There were no reported injuries or damage to property. Patrol deputies located evidence of a shooting at the scene.
 
Detectives from the Sheriff’s East County Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation, collected additional evidence, and identified five suspects involved in the shooting.  On the evening of January 2nd, 2026, detectives with the East County Special Enforcement Unit located the five involved suspects traveling in a vehicle in the city of Thousand Oaks.  With the assistance of the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit, all five suspects were taken into custody.  A handgun believed to be used in the shooting was located inside of the vehicle, along with gang-related paraphernalia.        
 
Three male juvenile suspects were arrested and booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of 25850(a)PC – Carrying a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle, 25400(a)(3)PC –  Vehicle Occupants in Possession of a Firearm, 246.3(a)PC – Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, 182(a)(1)PC –  Conspiracy, and 186.22(b)PC – Committing a Crime for the Benefit of a Criminal Street Gang.  A court date is pending for the three juveniles.  Cologio Bernal and Leonardo Baas were arrested and booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of 272(a)(1)PC – Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
