Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a carjacking incident following a vehicle pursuit.

On December 28^th at approximately 9:40 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the area of Lancaster Avenue and North DuPont Street when they observed a stolen vehicle from an armed carjacking that had just occurred. Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop and the vehicle fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located in the 1900 block of Delaware Avenue where it collided with a residence. Officers located and made contact with the suspect, 31-year-old Devante Burton and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Officers recovered a revolver style pellet gun.

Burton has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic citations:

• Robbery (First Degree)
• Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of  a Felony
• Resisting Arrest
• Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
