Boil Water Advisory has been LIFTED
On January 2, 2026, a portion of the Village of Decatur drinking water system was notified of the need to boil all tap water used for drinking and cooking. The Village of Decatur, in conjunction with the Michigan Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE), has determined it is no
longer necessary to use bottled water or boil water before drinking or cooking.
Appropriate corrective measures have been taken, and follow-up sampling has confirmed no coliform bacteria in the water supply.
Please see attached guidance for flushing your internal plumbing now that water is restored and the BWA has been lifted.
For more information, please contact Village Hall at 269-423-6114.
General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1(800) 426-4791.
