Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Traffic Collison Claims Life of Rancho Cucamonga Man

Driver: Confidential, 17-year-old juvenile male from Ontario, California
Pedestrian: 67-year-old male from Rancho Cucamonga (positive ID pending)
SUMMARY:
On January 5, 2026, at about 6:13 PM, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle, on Foothill Boulevard and Lion Street.
A Dodge Durango, driven by a juvenile, traveled west on Foothill Boulevard, in the number one lane, approaching Lion Street. As the driver approached the intersection, his vehicle collided with a male pedestrian, who was walking north, crossing Foothill Boulevard. Upon the arrival of deputies and fire personnel, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies J. Cadogan and A. Villalobos from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor and the exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
