On New Year’s Eve, officers from the Oakland Police Department’s (OPD) Special Resources Section - East were conducting special enforcement operations. An Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted them to a vehicle connected to an out-of-city robbery that had entered Oakland city limits.
The vehicle was later located on the 6500 block of Fenham Street. Two individuals fled from the vehicle into a nearby residence, while an adult male and a juvenile were detained inside the vehicle. Officers recovered two unregistered firearms, one loaded, from inside the vehicle.
Officers subsequently served a search warrant at the nearby residence, where they located a loaded, stolen firearm. The two juveniles who had fled into the residence were also detained.
All four individuals were placed under arrest in connection with the incident.
This operation demonstrates OPD’s effectiveness in keeping our neighborhoods safe and our ongoing dedication to public safety.
