High Wind Advisory for Sierra Madre
The National Weather Service is forecasting high winds that may result in downed power lines and falling trees. The City of Sierra Madre is actively monitoring weather conditions and coordinating with the National Weather Service and regional partners.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions ahead of the anticipated winds. Please consider the following safety reminders:
- Sign up for emergency alerts through Nixle and Genasys Emergency Communications
- Secure or bring indoors any outdoor furniture or loose items to help prevent property damage
- Prepare for the possibility of power outages due to high winds
- If you or a family member rely on electrically powered medical equipment, please plan accordingly
- If you see a downed power line, stay away and call 9-1-1 immediately
- If you encounter a fallen tree, please contact Sierra Madre Police Department non-emergency dispatch at (626) 355-1414
