The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from December 21st to December 27th      
 
December 21st  
Fighting/Public Intoxication - 6060 Central Ave (Nations):
At 2:34 AM, officers responded to the business for a disturbance. While officers were on scene two subjects began fighting each other. Officers separated the two parties and discovered they both were intoxicated. The subjects were arrested and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking the subjects were issued citations and released to a sober friend.

Vehicle Theft – 500 block of Liberty St:
At 8:20 AM, an officer reports theft of a vehicle overnight, between 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM. 

Petty Theft – 1300 block of Liberty St:
At 9:19 AM, an officer returned found property to a resident and learned the property was taken from her unlocked car on 12/15, on San Pablo Ave near Del Norte BART.

Petty Theft – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s):
At 12:05 PM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect stole cash from a purse that was left hanging in a bathroom stall.
 
December 22nd
Attempted Theft from a Vehicle – 700 block of Everett St:
At 2:29 PM, an officer reports the victim(s) vehicles were locked/secured and parked in front of their residence. The victim(s) noticed headlights of a vehicle, looked outside, and saw two unknown suspects possibly tampering with their vehicles. The victim(s) exited their house to confront the unknown suspects who ran to a waiting vehicle which fled the area. 
 
Theft with priors – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s):
At 4:19 PM, during an retail theft operation, an officer arrested a suspect for stealing merchandise.  The suspect had 3 prior convictions and qualified for 666.1PC.  To Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft - 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s):
At 8:11 PM an officer reports the victim left her purse in the restroom of the business. When the victim noticed her purse was missing, she returned to the store and retrieved it from Customer Service. The victim discovered property was missing from her purse.
 
December 23rd
Warrant Arrest/Possession of Narcotics/Drug Paraphernalia- San Pablo Ave/Bissell Ave:
At 2:03 AM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and discovered the pedestrian had an outstanding warrant. The officer also discovered the pedestrian had been reported as a missing person. During a search incident to arrest the pedestrian was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphrenia. The susbject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.  

Warrant Arrest – Carlson Blvd/El Dorado St:
At 9:04 PM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on two outstanding warrants.  The subject was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

December 24
Driving Under the Influence – Fairmount Ave/Ashbury Ave:
At 1:51 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence.  The driver was later released on a citation to a sober friend.

Robbery – 11430 San Pablo Ave (Pet Food Express):
At 5:05 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business and attempted to steal merchandise. The merchandise was recovered by employees, and the suspect fled the area.

December 25

December 26th
Grand Theft – 6500 block of Stockton Ave:
At 2:35 PM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect cut the lock cable that was securing the victim’s electric trike and carried the trike up a small set of stairs before they were scared off by the victim’s dogs.

Recovered Felony Vehicle – 10511 San Pablo Ave (Solar Car Wash):
At 6:09 PM, officers were alerted to a felony vehicle traveling through El Cerrito by Flock Safety cameras. Officers located the vehicle and contacted a subject who was associated with the vehicle. The subject was detained and later released from the scene. The vehicle was impounded at the request of the investigating police agency.

December 27th
Criminal Threats / Resist Arrest – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza (Starbucks):
At 8:04 AM, a suspect was arrested after he threatened to shoot employees of Starbucks while reaching into his coat and backpack, but no weapon was seen.  Booked at ECPD then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Brandishing – Zara Ave/Yuba St:
At 2:05 PM, an officer took a phone report of a brandishing incident that took place three weeks ago.

Vehicle Theft – Kearney St/Conlon Ave:
At 4:57 PM, an officer reports theft of a vehicle between 12/19 and today.
