Sheriff Clinton Roach reports that his office responded to a personal injury accident on Friday 01/09/2026 at approximately 6:30 pm.  The traffic Crash was located at the intersection of Daily Rd and M60 in Jefferson Twp, Cass County Michigan.  The investigation showed that Dawn Sparks (65 yrs old) from Cassopolis, MI  was travelling west bound on M60 in her Toyota Highlander, when she was struck in the passenger side of her vehicle by Yolanda Hernandez (53 yrs old) of Elkhart, IN,  who had stopped at the stop sign at Daily Rd and M60, then pulled out in her Jeep Renegade, failing to yield the right of way and striking Spark's vehicle.  The Spark's vehicle left the roadway, due to the impact of the collision and struck a house located near the intersection.  

Dawn Sparks and her front seat passenger, Carl Sparks (66 yrs old) of Cassopolis, and a 13-yr old Juvenile of Cassopolis, who was riding in the back seat, were all transported to the hospital for treatment of the injuries that were sustained during the crash.   The four people located in the Hernandes's vehicle sustained no apparent injuries.  The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted by SMCAS Ambulance service and Central Cass Fire Department.  The case remains under investigation.
