Man Arrested After Brandishing a Firearm at Pedestrians in Hesperia

LOCATION: 7000 block of Jenkins Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Emanuel Medellin Rivera, 47-year-old, Resident of Hesperia
VICTIM(S): Adult Male, Adult Female
SUMMARY: On January 12, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Deputy Van Brimmer responded to the 7000 block of Jenkins Avenue in the City of Hesperia for a report of a subject brandishing a firearm.
The suspect, identified as Emanuel Medellin Rivera, reportedly drove past two pedestrians at a high rate of speed. One of the pedestrians motioned for Rivera to slow down, at which point Rivera returned to the area and displayed a black handgun to the pedestrians.
Through investigative means, Deputy Van Brimmer identifed the suspect's vehicle and tracked it to his residence. A search warrant was served at Rivera’s residence and the firearm was located.
Rivera was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
