WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THURSDAY

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. In Cass, MI, Total snow 
  accumulations between 6 and 12 inches are likely for areas west of 
  Cassopolis and near the Berrien-Cass County line. Areas east will 
  see lesser amounts of 2 to 5 inches. In Marshall, IN, snow totals 
  of 4 to 8 inches are likely, with the highest amounts north of US 
  30. N-NW Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause blowing and 
  drifting of snow, especially for E-W oriented roads.
* WHERE...In Indiana, Marshall County. In Michigan, Cass MI County.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will 
  likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 
  mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are 
  expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially 
  life-threatening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This evening and Thursday morning commutes will see the greatest impacts to travel.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions.
