Kenilworth Park will be closed for NPS to conduct deer management operations on the evenings of Jan 14 & 15
DPR would like to share the following alert from the National Park Service regarding Kenilworth Park:
The National Park Service is temporarily closing Kenilworth Park to conduct deer management operations. Closures will occur from 4:00 pm on January 14, 2026, through 6:00 am January 15, 2026, and from 4:00 pm on January 15, 2026, through 6:00 am January 16, 2026. The Anacostia River Trail will be closed during the times above.
This temporary closure is necessary for the safety of visitors and staff during deer management activities, conducted in alignment with the National Capital Parks - East White-tailed Deer Management Plan. These operations aim to manage the deer population and protect park resources. During closures, NPS staff will inspect the area to ensure it is clear of visitors, and signage and on-site staff will restrict access to closed roads and trails.
