* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches. Total ice accretion between a Trace and 0.10". Winds gusting as high as 40 mph (see additional details below).

* WHERE...Lower Yukon and Innoko Valleys, Middle Yukon Valley, North Slopes of the Western Alaska Range, and Upper Kuskokwim Valley.

* WHEN...From noon Thursday to 6 PM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow is likely, especially in the terrain above 1500 feet as well as towards Galena/Ruby. Winds will gust up to 40 mph, especially Thursday evening through Friday evening. There is a chance for significant blowing/drifting snow, reduced visibility as well as localized power outages. There is also a chance for freezing rain to mix in from Friday morning through Friday evening with a Trace to 0.10" of ice possible from the Western AK Range north/west. The greatest risk for ice accretion will be in the Upper Kuskokwim and middle Yukon Valleys.
