On January 12, 2026, at 330 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Kennedy Drive of Fort Branch. Deputy Michael Bates and Sgt. John Fischer were dispatched to the scene and upon arriving they separated the parties and began an investigation into the incident. At the conclusion of the investigation 40-year-old Bryan Kennedy was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center. Upon arriving at the detention center Mr. Kennedy was charged with Strangulation, Battery, and interference in the Reporting of a Crime.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
