January 14, 2026, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office has received information from Verizon Wireless regarding nationwide outage issues that may impact a customer's ability to make or receive phone calls to include dialing 911.
This outage may also affect other phone providers. If customers are experiencing phone issues but need emergency assistance, they may need to use other phone sources to call 911 or the non-emergency dispatch line at 843-524-2777.
