Arrest for Child Sexual Abuse Material

On January 14, 2026, detectives and patrol officers with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) arrested 37-year-old David Griffin Giovannini, a Rohnert Park resident, for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

In August 2025, RPDPS received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), referred through the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (SVICAC) Task Force.
Following an investigation, RPDPS detectives identified David Griffin Giovannini as the primary suspect. Detectives served multiple search warrants to electronic service providers associated with Giovannini’s accounts and carrier services. These efforts led to the service of a search warrant at Giovannini’s residence, where multiple electronic devices belonging to him were seized. During the course of the investigation, detectives located Child Sexual Abuse Material on the seized electronic devices.

On January 13, 2026, a Ramey Warrant was issued for Giovannini’s arrest. On January 14, 2026, RPDPS detectives and patrol officers served the warrant at his residence and placed him under arrest. Giovannini was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for violation of California Penal Code § 311.11(a)(1) – Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, with bail set at $30,000.
