Winter Weather Advisory until 03:00PM Friday

* WHAT...Snow, freezing rain and heavy rain. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 8 inches and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph through Portage and eastern Turnagain Arm.

* WHERE...East Turnagain Arm, Interior Kenai Peninsula, and Turnagain Pass.

* WHEN...From 3 AM Thursday to 3 PM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow early Thursday morning could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong front and atmospheric river will move into the eastern Kenai Peninsula and Eastern Turnagain Arm Thursday morning and remain in place through Friday. Snow levels will gradually rise Thursday to between 1600 and 2200 ft. Heavy rain falling on snow covered and frozen roadways will cause hazardous conditions. Hydroplaning will be likely in areas. Total liquid amounts of 1.8 to 4.5 inches expected.
