* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch. Light to moderate rain. Winds gusting up to 50 mph.
* WHERE...Anchorage and Eagle River (all elevations), Matanuska Valley, and Southern Susitna Valley.
* WHEN...From 6 PM Thursday to 9 PM AKST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A warm and wet system will move into the area tomorrow, gradually increasing temperatures and southeasterly winds. Overnight on Thursday, light to moderate rain will develop and spread over Anchorage, the Mat Valley and southern Susitna Valley. Rain falling onto frozen and snow covered surfaces will create icy and difficult travel conditions.
