Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of January 5-11, 2026
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were three robberies during the past week.
On Wednesday, 01-07-26, at approximately 3:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to Target at the Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. An asset protection specialist stated that the suspect concealed items in a personal bag and exited the store without paying. Two asset protection employees identified themselves and attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect pushed past the asset protection employees, dropped the merchandise, and fled on a bus. A short time later, an officer located the suspect, a 42-year-old Daly City resident, who was arrested and booked into jail for robbery.
On Friday, 01-09-26, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a victim had her sunglasses grabbed from her hand by a known suspect at Skyline Plaza. The suspect, a 41-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and other charges.
On Saturday, 01-10-26, at approximately 2:04 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Serramonte Center on a report of an altercation involving a shoplifting suspect. A loss prevention employee stated that she observed a suspect select clothing in the activewear section and then met with a second suspect in another section of the store. The second suspect handed the first suspect a jean jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt. The first suspect entered a fitting room with all of the items. After exiting the fitting room, the first suspect, who was wearing unpaid merchandise, briefly contacted the second suspect and then proceeded toward the east exit. Upon exiting, the loss prevention employee contacted the first suspect, identified herself, and informed the suspect that he was wearing unpaid merchandise before attempting to detain him. The suspect resisted by yelling, pulling away, and flailing his arms. Additional loss prevention employees attempted to assist. During the attempt to detain him, the suspect pushed, kicked, and elbowed the employees, striking at least two of them. Meanwhile, the second suspect left the store with unpaid merchandise at another exit and attempted to assist the first suspect’s escape using a black vehicle but fled when unsuccessful. Loss prevention employees were able to detain the first suspect. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot and found the second suspect walking nearby, where he was detained. The second suspect was in possession of the key fob to the vehicle. Stolen Macy’s merchandise was recovered from the vehicle. The second suspect was also found to be in possession of a wallet containing a narcotic substance suspected to be cocaine. The first suspect, a 25-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and organized retail theft. The second suspect, a 27-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for organized retail theft and possession of a controlled substance.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
