Klondike Highway Remains Closed - Emergency Travel with Fuel Truck Caravan leaving Skagway approx. 1:00-2:00pm
The Klondike Highway remains closed, however the Canadian side has one-lane of clearance that they will allow fuel trucks to pass through. The caravan will be open to persons stuck in Skagway to follow the fuel trucks going back to Whitehorse. The Canadian portion of the highway remains a high avalanche risk and is actively being worked on, so travel is recommended for EMERGENCY-ONLY purposes.
First set of fuel trucks will wait at the bottom of the hill near DOT office, at the highway gate between 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
Instructions:
Travel only if emergency and have ample emergency supplies available if planning to do so.
