LOCATION: 14000 La Paz Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Baltazar Tellez Jimenez, 46-year-old, Resident of Adelanto
Wendy Salgado Ronces, 31-year-old, Resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at approximately 4:52 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station responded to a report of a shooting in the 14000 block of La Paz Drive in Victorville.
During the investigation, deputies learned multiple subjects were involved in a physical altercation inside the store. The altercation continued into the parking lot, where the suspect, Baltazar Tellez Jimenez, produced a firearm and fired several rounds toward the victim and the storefront.
Jimenez fled the area in a vehicle driven by Wendy Salgado, who is the registered owner of the firearm. Two children were also inside of the vehicle during the incident.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. Jimenez and Salgado were detained without incident. Deputies located a firearm inside the vehicle. No injuries were reported during this incident.
Baltazar Tellez Jimenez was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for PC 664187 – Attempt Murder, and PC 273A(A) – Child Endangerment. Wendy Salgado Ronces was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for PC 273A(A) – Child Endangerment, and PC 25850(A) – Carrying a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place.
