Deputies Locate Stolen Vehicle and Find Suspect Sleeping Inside

DATE/TIME: Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at approximately 11:34 p.m.

INCIDENT: CVC 10851(A) - Vehicle Theft

LOCATION: 2600 Block of Needles Hwy, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Ian Yorke, 36-years-old, Resident of Whittier, CA

VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL


SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at approximately 11:34 p.m, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department conducted a vehicle check near the 2600 block of Needles Highway. During a records check of the vehicle, it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen from a rental agency out of Fullerton, CA.  The suspect, Ian Yorke, was found sleeping in the rear of the vehicle.  

During the investigation, Yorke was found to be in violation of CVC 10851(A)- Vehicle Theft.  Yorke was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.  Yorke remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department on $30,000.00 bail, awaiting a court hearing.
