On January 15, 2026, at approximately 8 a.m., deputies from Lakewood Station responded to the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue in the city of Lakewood regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call.
Information in the call stated the caller’s father had shot at her and was now lying near her on the floor unconscious.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted a 19-year-old female adult who exited the residence. The female was unharmed and briefly stated that her father had shot at her.
The female was subsequently transported to Lakewood Station.
Deputies entered the residence and located an adult male lying on the floor in the den of the home suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The male was later identified as 52-year-old Hector Lionel Alfaro, of Lakewood.
Deputies continued through the residence and located a 48-year-old female in a bedroom suffering from gunshot wounds to her torso. The 48-year-old female was identified as Alfaro’s wife.
In a second bedroom, deputies located a 17-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso. The 17-year-old female was identified as Alfaro’s youngest daughter.
The 19-year-old female, whom deputies contacted upon their arrival, was identified as Alfaro’s daughter eldest daughter.
Alfaro, his wife, and youngest daughter were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Through investigation, Homicide Investigators learned gunshots were heard within the residence by Alfaro’s 19-year-old daughter while she was asleep. Alfaro then appeared near her armed with a handgun and shot at her several times; however, she was not struck by the gunfire.
Alfaro then shot himself while standing near his 19-year-old daughter.
Two firearms were recovered at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
