As we observe this day of reflection and service, I encourage residents to honor his legacy not only in words, but through action—just as we have done in the past through neighborhood cleanups, food and coat drives, and community events that bring residents together.
By continuing to serve one another, we strengthen East Chicago and move closer to the just, inclusive community Dr. King envisioned—where every resident has the opportunity to thrive."
