Winter Storm Warning until 07:00AM Tuesday

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow with near blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Storm total amounts between 6 and 14 inches with higher drifts. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MASON ... OCEANA ... MUSKEGON ... OTTAWA ... KENT ... ALLEGAN ... VAN BUREN

Instructions:

If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.
