Middlesex County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information on the burglary of a local church just before Christmas.
The burglary was discovered at 7 a.m. on Dec. 22 when parishioners arrived for morning Mass at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church in the Monmouth Junction section of the township.
The suspects ransacked several rooms in the church, climbing through ceiling tiles, smashing sheetrock and prying open closets and drawers, police said, in addition to stealing the church’s collection money for the past week.
Chief Raymond Hayducka said, “I want to thank Middlesex County Crime Stopper for putting up this reward. Our detectives continue to follow leads, and we believe that one phone call or online tip will help. Anyone with information can provide the tip anonymously and receive a cash reward.”
