Rio Arriba County Fire, Rio Arriba Sheriff's Office, the City of Espanola and ERA911 would like to reach out to our community as forecasts from the National Weather Service are predicting the possibility of inclement winter weather starting on Friday and lasting thru the weekend.
While conditions may continue to evolve, now is an important time to begin planning and preparing to help ensure everyone’s safety.
We encourage residents to plan ahead whenever winter weather or other hazardous conditions are forecast. Early preparation can help reduce disruptions and improve overall readiness.
As you prepare, please remember to:
• Have emergency supplies readily available, including food, water, medications, and other essential items
• Ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, warnings, and emergency notifications
• Follow guidance and instructions from local law enforcement, emergency management, and first responders
• Stay alert, remain informed, and check in on family members, neighbors, and friends—especially those who may need additional assistance
