What to Expect
- Bitterly cold temperatures will lead to an increase of ice on area rivers through this weekend
- Localized, rapid water rises may occur with little to no notice
Three USGS River Gauges are used to determine the river levels. As of 10:00 am, the Muskegon River near
- Croton was at 4.78 feet with flows at 1,090 cubic feet per second. Flood stage is at 9.0 feet.
- Newaygo was at 7.48 feet. Flood stage is at 11.0 feet.
- Bridgeton was at 10.89 feet and rising. Flood stage is at 13.0 feet.
- Those along rivers should prepare for rising water and potential ice jams and flooding
