Defendant in 448 gang investigation pleads guilty 
Today in Rutherford County Superior Court, Roberto Luis Alvarez entered a guilty plea to multiple felony charges, including trafficking fentanyl and criminal gang activity, stemming from the ongoing 448 gang investigation. As a result of this plea, he was sentenced to 18.75 years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction and ordered to pay an additional $1 million fine.
This conviction represents a major step forward and the first significant break in dismantling this criminal gang organization operating within Rutherford County. Cases like this take sustained effort, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to public safety.
