Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department Receives New Grant Award for Protective Gear
Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ — January 23, 2026 — The Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus is pleased to announce that the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department a grant of up to $22,983.00 to support the purchase of five sets of firefighter bunker gear, including maximum-mobility coats and pants and helmets. The Borough is grateful for the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting public safety organizations and first responders nationwide.
This grant is in addition to two federal grants received in 2025, a $276,190.47 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant for the purchase of 29 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) units and $975,000 in FY26 federal appropriations toward the purchase of a new Rescue Engine.
These grants were secured through coordination among the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus Mayor and Council, the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department, and Bruno Associates, Inc. of Clifton, New Jersey, whose assistance was instrumental in navigating the grant process.
